Summertime electrical safety
As the weather gets warmer and we are looking forward to summer time temperatures, it is time to plan ahead for the increased electricity demands summer brings. Air conditioning units, attic fans, and electric grills are a few of the summer time appliances that can put additional stress on a home’s electrical wiring and could pose a potential fire hazard. If you live in a home that is 40 years or older or have added new appliances, Burke Electric recommends having a whole house electrical inspection to ensure that your home is up to current code standards and has an electrical system that is sufficient to carry the load of your current electrical needs.
Signs that indicate your electrical system may need updated include:
- Tripping circuit breakers
- Blown fuses
- Dimming lights.
